Security and IAM Specialist

  • Hybrid

Job description

As a skilled Security IAM Specialist you play a key role in securing access to systems, applications, and data in addition to helping out the security team with day-to-day security operations. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls that enforce least privilege, zero trust, compliance, and other best practices in line with industry standards for a remote-first environment.

You are an expert in securing core-IT (think of employee devices, Google Workspace Slack, Notion, Email) while at the same time providing the security department, application owners, and auditors with visibility on the current compliance status.

In this role, you will work closely with IT, Operations, and (legal) compliance teams. You will be responsible for monitoring and responding to (identity-related) threats, implementing authentication measures (such as MFA and SSO), and driving continuous improvements in IAM and security governance. Your work will focus on mitigating risks associated with decentralized access.

After the initial IAM needs are met, additional security responsibilities will be part of the role. Think of setting up vulnerability management, dashboarding, and (technical) risk management processes.

About the team

1 Team Lead (Information Security Officer) based in The Netherlands (mostly remote), and 2 IT Engineers in Poznan PL.

Your 12-month journey

  • During the first 3 months: The focus will be on getting to know Tellent and our technical tool sets. We will run you through our configurations, regular checks that we perform, and create clarity on the Security responsibilities so that you’re fully familiarized with our ways of working. We will put a lot of emphasis on our monitoring systems, and how we currently have compliance and security reporting set up. To support you during this process you will work closely together with our other IT Operations Engineer(s) and various application owners to see how integrations are configured. The goal of the first three months is to get you up to speed to be able to draft IAM and security improvement plans.

  • Within 6 months: You have implemented various dashboards and/or reports that allow Security, IT, and leadership teams to more strategically steer on Security Compliance.

  • After 1 year: Ad-hoc tasks are yesterday's story. Alerts are configured and/or automatically resolved so that Tellent, and its apps and devices, stay compliant. Focus is on improving our hardening levels while ensuring successful and smooth operations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Implement and improve our (current/new) IAM solution

    • Ensuring a single identity source-of-truth

    • IAM, SSO, MFA for employees, contractors and guests

    • Consolidation of in-use Password Managers

  • Tackle processes around app purchasing and onboarding (IT, Security)

  • Creation of visibility (dashboards) on:

    • Device patch status

    • Incident response (endpoint detection)

  • Automate prioritising and delegation of security findings:

    • Vulnerability scanners

    • Bug bounty tickets

  • Assist in Tier-1 security incident response

Job requirements

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Experience with the implementation of IAM integrations

  • Knowledge of IT and Security audit requirements

    • From a risk perspective, ensuring we have visibility on the things that matter most

  • Basic knowledge of security baselines such as ISO 27001

  • Cyber Security, ICT, and/or other relevant certifications

  • Experience in scripting / basic programming / no-code platforms such as Zapier.

  • Flexibility, creativity, and focus on delivering solutions that work for every stakeholder involved

    • “Yes, let’s figure out how”-mindset

    • A technical solution for Development might not work for employees in Marketing, or our tools might not (yet) suit our needs resulting in the need to think of interim solutions

    • We might need to bend some rules (e.g. by adjusting policies or allowing well-reasoned exceptions)

    • Tellent, and her employees, are ambitious, things (often) move fast

  • Be thorough in documenting

    • This applies to closing tasks/tickets and writing internal documentation but also in communication to others. We need to be clear on our decision making so others understand why sometimes things could be a yes or a no.

  • Get enjoyment out of being hands-on and to implement solutions.

What we offer:

  • A chance to be part of and to shape one of the hottest, most ambitious scale-ups in Europe.

  • € 1,500 annual training budget.

  • 28 paid holiday days.

  • Pension scheme & fitness subscription.

  • Apple MacBook alongside a Home Office budget.

  • Work from anywhere for 4 weeks/year.

  • Annual travel budget to visit the team in Poland/France.

  • €200 home office budget + work from home allowance

  • An inclusive and international work environment with a lot of fun thrown in!

  • Impactful role at one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe.

  • We’ll save you the startup pitch of Friday beers, and ping-pong. Visit our Instagram to check us out: https://www.instagram.com/tellentHQ
