Job description
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the VP of Finance plays a central role in leading our finance department. This role combines hands-on financial expertise with strong leadership, overseeing multiple teams across FP&A, accounting, and operational finance. You will interact with your counterparts in Operations and Legal.
The VP of Finance is a key partner to the CFO, private equity stakeholders and banks, responsible for ensuring financial clarity. From P&L management, balance sheet control, and cash flow reporting to preparing high-quality materials for investors, this role requires someone who thrives in a PE-backed environment and builds scalable processes in a growing SaaS company.
Key responsibilities
Lead multiple teams (accounting / controllership and FP&A) within the finance department.
Partner with the CFO on financial strategy, planning, and investor relations.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Develop and implement scalable financial processes, systems and controls to support efficient growth according to the Rule of 50.
Prepare high-quality financial materials for investors and lender.
Act as a trusted business partner to leadership teams across the company.
Drive team performance, development and engagement as a strong people leader.
Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
The profile we’re looking for
Extensive experience in a Big 4 firm within Transactional Services / Financial Due Diligence.
Experience in a private equity–backed company, ideally within SaaS or technology.
Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financials into actionable insights.
Focused on optimization utilizing AI.
Fluent in Dutch (required) and English.
Willingness to be based in Amsterdam HQ (hybrid set-up) with some travel required.
